Two words. Party Panda. I’m known as Vanda the Party Panda. I’m an endangered species that can only be spotted after 11pm on Austin’s infamous 6th St. I frequently hibernate at the UT campus at the business and communication school since I’m the only Panda double majoring in public relations and international business. Spotting me on campus is difficult as I wear a disguise, but if you think you’ve seen me just yell out hey Vanda the Panda! I’m an internationally traveled Panda and love watching soccer and jamming out to some sweet tunes. Other names I’ve been given are Planet Longhorn Soccer Mom, Wandy, Vanda the Rapist (don’t ask) and you can see me drive my bullet proof Panda-mobile to the shooting range because I love shooting guns especially an AR-15. I’m a drinking, partying, shooting Panda who loves Planet Longhorn and exchange students!
Howdy! I’m Caroline and this semester marks my last at The University of Texas, where I’m currently pursuing a Masters in Accounting. I’m an incredibly proud Texan, but grew up spending my summers in The Netherlands with my Oma, who taught me Dutch and sparked my interest in the international community from a young age. During my first three years at UT I was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and during my junior year I lived with international students from Holland and France who first got me involved with Planet Longhorn and encouraged me to take a one-year sabbatical from McCombs to study law abroad. Ever since returning, I’ve been very active with Planet Longhorn (which I now consider to be THE social organization that absolutely made my college experience!!) and have served two fantastic semesters as the Director of Events for the group. As this is my last semester in Austin, I’m very excited to spend as much time doing as many “Austin-y” things as possible and to soak up everything the city has to offer—one of my goals for the semester is to check out the up-and-coming/underground/hipster Austin scene (I’d love to check out a new music venue/bar on a weekly basis and would also love company). As I said, I’m a very proud Texan and one of my favorite things to do is to help others discover how awesome Texas is. I also love road trips, driving around aimlessly and listening to reggaeton, doing Bikram yoga and running at Town Lake. All in all, I’m ready for a fabulous last semester and am excited to show you the many things Austin/Texas has to offer!!

Anna is a sophomore Finance major at McCombs, mainly because business people get to wear suits (insert Barney Stinson reference from “How I Met Your Mother,” a must-see American show). She also enjoys art and literature, mainly the confusing kind, like Expressionism or stream of consciousness writing. She is originally from Russia, and has traveled to Georgia (both the country and the state), Bulgaria, Germany, France, and Belgium (chocolate!). Right now, she is wondering how one becomes a Texan, in addition to secretly wishing she was born in the 70s (better music than now). Thanks for reading, y’all! (because nothing is more Texan than a y’all?)

Tiffany is a third year, public relation and business student, at University of Texas. She was born in Hong Kong but raised in Houston, Texas. Austin is now her new home. There is nothing she loves more than Texas football in the Fall. She recently studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark and Amsterdam, Netherlands. She currently has the travel bug, recently she has been traveling from the Caribbean’s to Europe. She is super excited to show the exchange students the ultimate American experience, from the infamous Dirty Sixth to Lake Austin to trailer food exploring! Get ready to party with the nightlife guru! Aside from partying, if anyone needs help to look over essays (copy editing is her second nature) or to just hang out or go explore Austin(shopping, a run around the capital/UT campus?) feel free to Facebook,text/call !

Patrick is a second-year computer science major from Colleyville, which lies in the greater DFW area. As a half-Panamanian he has obtained his dual citizenship and makes annual trips to Panamá with hopes of becoming fully fluent in Spanish. He’s been drumming for most of his life and is an adamant music listener, always trying to bring a little bit of flavor to the dance floor. His travels have led him to Costa Rica, Aruba, Mexico, and Scotland, plus his goal is to minor in Spanish and study abroad in Barcelona, where he could check out the best football club in the world (¡Viva Barca!). Patrick was introduced to Planet Longhorn during his first semester at UT and he upped his involvement in the organization because it fosters friendships without borders, emphasizes the importance of cultural acceptance, and celebrates diversity as a younger generation begins to take the world into its hands. Patrick is beyond excited to meet new international students while also providing U.S.-born students a cultural experience and encouraging global travel with an open mind.
