car2go is a carsharing service that offers easy, flexible car rentals. A fleet of 200 car2gos is located throughout campus and the downtown Austin area and can be accessed “on-demand”. Members may use the vehicle for as long as they like, without committing to a specific return time. Unlike other carsharing programs, car2go is not station-based.  Drivers can finish their rentals in any public parking space within the business area or at one of the designated car2go spaces. Charges are based on minutes used and include fuel, insurance and parking.

To register, go to www.austincar2go.com and fill out an application.  Once you’re approved, you will be sent a membership card that allows you access to the vehicles.

*To register with an international license, you will need to follow these additional steps:

• Complete the application, but select “I do not wish to enter my driver’s license”
• Send a translated copy of your Driver’s License and Driving Record (usually obtained from the government agency that issued your license) to austin@car2go.com.
• Once your driving record is approved, your membership packet will be mailed

Please allow an additional week for a manual review of your driving record.
